British News paper reporting on TAF MULTI.from May 21 to 25 in British STADCO Pressing STADCO pioneer new welding system SHREWSBURY-based STADCO Pressings has become the first company in Europe to install the advanced TAF computer controlled multifunctional spot welding system. STADCO Pressing, which is part of the Hall Engineering Group, is one of the major suppliers of panels and subassemblies to the leading automotive manufacturers in Europe and Scansdinavia, and the TAF welding cells will give the company total flexibility in its manufacturing programme. The TAF systems represent the next generation of welding technology. Instead of dedicated welding cells which are tooled to produce. a single component and then discarded once the model is discontinued, the TAF cells can be reprogrammed to produce other components. Through the adoption of TAF systems, investories can be reduced significantly, making it much easier to obtain supplies exactly when needed and remarkably boost efficiency in the use of equipment and facilities. Moreover, these systems are designed to control welding requirement by computer, thus providing an ongoing contribution to high productivily and excellence of quality in finished goods.
